UCF BOT-UFF Bargaining

During the summer and the start of the fall semester, several bargaining sessions have taken place between UCF BOT and the UFF. After the ratification of the contract for the term 2004-2007 in the spring of 2005, current bargaining is confined to Article 26 dealing only with salaries and salary-related issues such as awards (TIPs/RIAs/SoTLs) and discretion moneys.

The agreement also called for review of merit criteria by each department and for review of the promotion and tenure criteria in each department. Faculty committees in each department continued work on these items throughout the summer for department discussion at the beginning of this academic year.

UCF Faculty Senate Resolutions

Two Faculty Senate resolutions were passed at the first meeting of 2005-2006 session held on August 25, 2005.

Resolution 2005-2006-1: TIP/SoTL Awards.  This resolution called for continuing the new TIP and SoTL awards at the numbers in the contract and not decreasing the new awards by half as proposed in bargaining.

Resolution 2005-2006-2: Establish a College of Medicine.  This resolution expressed strong support by the Faculty Senate at UCF for the proposal to establish a College of Medicine.

These resolutions have been forwarded to the UCF administration.

An ad hoc subcommittee has been established to review all criteria and procedures for administering the TIP/RIA/SoTL awards at UCF.
