University of North Florida Campus Update

The University of North Florida has little to report, at this time. Little has occurred since we last reported in May.

Collective Bargaining

Impasse has been declared. The earliest we could schedule a hearing with a special magistrate is in December. The bargaining teams continue to talk, in hopes they can settle things before they have to go before a special magistrate.

A small group of faculty staged a rally urging the Union and the administration to come to terms. The President made an appearance at the rally and spoke to those participating. No one from the Union leadership attended.

Banner Conversion

Conversion to Banner ERP system continues to be rocky. We had implemented financial and HR modules in December 04. Implementation of student modules, including scheduling and registration, began late this Summer. Nothing has been easy. We still have people complaining about payroll problems. As for the student modules, we are finding we don’t have the functionality we once had. We are trying to operate as usual, without the information we once had available to us. If the tax payers only knew how much this exercise has cost them!
